The brass shows through the lacquer where a thumb has rested for years, not because it was aged in a workshop, but because a tool that gets used looks exactly like this.

Everything here still does its stated job. The aperture ring clicks in whole and half stops. The advance lever has one travel, one stop. The rangefinder patch is still where the eye expects it. None of it was simplified for the photo.

CALIBER builds its page the way a maker's catalog once did: the object first, the copy second, and never the other way around.
